'ShopTalk - Second Generation Print

In last week's post we talked about scanning a business card and adding bleed so that it can be reproduced. However, from time to time we are given an original card and asked to make changes to it. While this may seem like a simple thing to do, it can sometimes be very challenging and take several hours worth of work.

Often times when a document is scanned a pixelated effect is produced. Adding the new text or images will stand out sharply because of the clarity of the background image. There are tools in Photoshop to decrease this effect somewhat but the best solution is to recreate the document from scratch using similar if not identical stock art.
